I wanted to learn how to drive a scooter, so I asked how much learning

I wanted to learn how to drive a scooter, so I asked how much learning it would cost. The driving lessons cost two. That was a good deal compared with learning how to drive a car, which costs twenty five. My instructor was named Mike.

According to Mike, there were a few things I had to do. First I had to start the engine. To start the engine, I had to kick the scooter -- "push started", Mike explained. Second, I had to grab the handle bars and place one foot on the scooter. Then I was to hit the acceleration.

I hit it and lost my balance. I almost passed out when I saw the blood from my knee. I think I surprised Mike, because we were on gravel road. He wasn't expecting that I would just up and take off. Mike helped me right myself, cleaned and bandaged the knee, and I resumed position.

This time, Mike advised, I take it a lot slower. I agreed, and eased the acceleration. Mike told me to bring my other foot off the ground as I gained balance. I did so. As I passed a nearby parked car, I asked Mike,"Are you sure these driving lessons cost only two?" Mike laughed and said yes.

I hit a bump in the road and I panicked. I saw the road coming towards me. I braced for a hard landing, but got unexpected arms around me. It was Mike, and he had just saved me from a bloody mess of a time.I gasped a Thank You and slowly got up from his arms.

"Let's try that again.""Yes, let's. This time, though, make sure you attend to how your body is facing and balancing on the scooter. Try not to keep your feet and body towards the front where the handlebars are. It's dangerous; the imbalance on the board might cause you to topple. One bump, like that last one you went over, and you might be, and probably will be, hitting street dust. Try to have one foot slightly ahead of the other, with both facing the front of the board."

I tried it again. It worked. It seems that I had his pass to safety. I asked again what the driving lessons cost would be. I was sure it should cost at least ten dollars, if not twenty five. But no, the driving lessons cost only two dollars. I went away both happy, and more educated.
